Against Spiritual Outsourcing

The temptation is always to find someone more certain than you and call that certainty God.

It is efficient. It is comforting. It gives the frightened part of the soul a chair, a manual, a chain of command. Someone else reads. Someone else interprets. Someone else decides where the danger is.

But Christ does not say the kingdom is outsourced to the credentialed. He says it is within you, among you, already pressing against the locked door of your own attention.

That does not mean every private impulse is holy. It means the work cannot be subcontracted. Test the spirits. Test the teachers. Test the institution. Test your own hunger to be relieved of responsibility.

No intermediary is required.

No immunity from discernment is granted.
